Resolve To Be A Loser In 2012!

I ate fast food for breakfast, lunch and dinner without a care whatsoever of the health consequences. I thought exercise was a joke; in fact I used to laugh about it. Rapidly approaching 250 pounds, I was falling further and further into a self- destructive mode and I still did not realize I was killing myself. I went for a physical exam and I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. The doctor arranged for an overnight sleep study because I complained of having no energy, falling asleep during the day and not feeling rested upon awakening.

The results of the sleep study indicated that I had severe obstructive sleep apnea. I was given two choices by the doctor; I could either have esophageal reconstructive surgery or sleep with a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine. The doctor said if I didn't do something immediately about the condition I could die in my sleep or have a stroke or heart attack. He also told me if I lost weight and exercised it would benefit with either choice I made.

I chose the lazy way and decided to sleep using a CPAP machine but continued the same nutritionally void diet and sedentary lifestyle. I did not want to put in any effort but I did not want surgery either. It was New Year's Eve 2001 and I was the most obese that I had ever been. At almost 245 pounds (I am 5'8") I made a resolution. I made a goal to start exercising and eating healthier. I did not want to be overweight, taking medication and on a breathing machine for the rest of my life.

January 1st I started working out and actually stuck with it for a whole month. I was pissed that I only lost around five pounds. My Dad gave me some words of encouragement to keep on. He bought me a vinyl sweat suit and a pair of boxing gloves. I punched the bag that he had in his exercise room every day for weeks straight. To make it fun, I made up a game and pretended I was going rounds in a boxing match. I really sweat my fat off! I also started researching, reading and educating myself on health, nutrition and exercise. I decided to eliminate soda from my diet, and let me tell you, when you drink three super-size servings of soda a day that is not very easy. By spring, my weight was down to 210 pounds and I was feeling great.

At this time I stopped eating fast food and anything fried. I started preparing my own meals and eating salads and sandwiches. I then took my work out to the outdoors. I went on forty mile bike rides through the North Branch bike trail (Devon and Milwaukee to the Botanic Gardens) at least three times a week and also started hiking in the local forest preserve. I then started to decrease the CPAP machine usage to four times per week, then three, then two in a two month period. By August 2002 I weighed in at 180 pounds and I felt and looked like a new person. I kept up with the exercise while continuing to learn about nutrition and holistic health; I decided to give up sweets. By the beginning of Autumn I weighed 165 pounds (ideal weight for my body type and height.)

I decided to stop using the CPAP machine all together. When I went for a follow-up exam in November of 2002, the doctor said not only was my blood pressure ok, but my sleep apnea condition seemed to have subsided as well.

This is my true story of how I transformed myself from being unhappy and miserable to happy and healthy. This personal story is a HUGE inspiration for the passion I have to share all that I have learned. Obesity and disease can be reversed, please look at my photos on my profile as I am living proof of it. I have dedicated a portion of my life to helping people with similar goals struggling with health issues and weight loss. I may not be a licensed doctor or nutritionist however I have life experience that no medical school or degree could ever give me. Pills, medications, surgery, fad diets, fasts, and cleanses can be a temporary fix, however in my opinion none of these will bring permanent and positive changes as much as a complete lifestyle change.

Please, if you have any questions or suggestions I would be more than happy to hear them. I welcome your comments on this post and please share with anyone you think may benefit from it. Find an Exciting Swimming Class for Weight Loss

Are none of the fad diets on the market working to help you lose belly fat? It can certainly grow frustrating. That is why it is necessary for you to take control of your own weight loss efforts. Rather than relying on the latest pill to help you shed pounds, create your own workout routine to burn hundreds of calories, such as swimming in a pool. The exercise is ideal for your muscles tone, your heart, your lungs and the size of your belly. If it has been a little while since you've spend any quality time in the water, you should simply find the right swimming class to get your mind and body up to speed. Taking advantage of a swimming instructor's advice is highly recommended before you start splashing away to quickly slim down.

Regardless which swimming style you choose to exercise with, you can burn well over 500 calories every hour. In other words, you can shed hundreds more calories by swimming than simply by walking on a treadmill. The aerobic exercise is comparable to jogging, with the added benefit of toning all of your muscles. Your joints get exercised too, thanks to their repetitive movements in the water. Meanwhile, various parts of your body, such as your hips and shoulders, gain flexibility. Match swimming with a healthy diet, and you should get lean and mean in no time.

As any swimming class will teach you, the most basic style in the water is the sidestroke. You just lay your body sideways with one arm extended straight out. Your other arm is facing your feet. Simply rotate your arms back and forth, while you kick forward with your legs and feet.

Another ideal swimming style for quickly burning calories is the front crawl, also known as the freestyle. You alternate your arms and kick your feet again, but this time you are facing down. Every few seconds, you rotate your head out of the water to breath. To perform the backstroke, simply alternate your body 180 degrees and perform the front crawl. It may not be as easy to perform, but you'll certainly get less water in your mouth and lungs.

When you want to try the breaststroke, place both palms on your chest, like you are saying a prayer in church. Then shoot your arms straight out with your palms facing the floor. Push them down and out into a circular motion, and repeat the action. Meanwhile, raise your knees towards your chest, and kick them out with plenty of force to swim forward and burn plenty of calories. With each thrust, your head will pop out over the water to catch a breath. As you can see, losing belly fat can be fun and easy once you find the right swimming class to show you the ropes of losing weight.

When I was a kid, I loved spending time in the water. Whether it was the ocean, a lake or even the community pool, I had a blast swimming for hours at a time. Now that I am middle-aged, I had forgotten how good taking a swim is for my body. In fact, when I recently asked my doctor how to lose weight fast, he suggested powerful HCG Injections, as well as enrolling in a swimming class to see quick weight loss

Losing Weight On A Gluten Free Diet

Losing weight on a gluten-free diet is one of the positive side effects of having Celiac disease. There are some however that struggle with their weight even though they have become intolerant to Gluten. If you are gaining weight and eating foods which are free from wheat, then maybe you need something to give your body a fat burning boost.

I know quite well how becoming gluten intolerant can have an effect on your body. Having a close family member who became ill, and then diagnosed with Celiac disease I know what simple steps can be changed to turn things around. I know for some having that overnight change in diet means a quick and dramatic loss of weight.

What if you are gaining weight?

It's not common for people to pile on the pounds when changing their diet, but simple changes in the foods you eat can turn things around, and get your body on the right track. You can make simple changes, many of them you probably thought were not possible. Did you ever think that eating Gluten Free pizza was a good thing? OK, we are not talking about eating it everyday, but it is possible to eat these foods, stay healthy and lose weight.

Losing Weight On A Gluten Free Diet.

The close family member I mentioned earlier also had energy problems. Are you having low energy days, feeling like you have no fuel in your tank? A problem associated with this is eating Gluten, but what if you are not eating it? You may be falling into the trap of consuming foods which are tough to digest, and this could be using up some of your energy levels.

The last small piece of advice I'm going to give you is, not to stop eating your favourite foods. When a major change in your life such as this hits you, it can give some people low confidence levels, and having to stop eating the foods you love can be a really big blow for many. This is a really important, you must keep on eating those foods which have become a source of comfort and enjoyment.

Having to change to eating non Gluten foods can seem like a major change in your life, but in time you will find it's only a small change. You will find many substitutes which are now becoming more popular, as Celiac disease starts to become more common in younger people too.

Benefits of Cardiovascular Exercise

There are many overweight people who need to lose weight for a variety of different reasons. It could be that you need to lose weight to fit into your nice clothes or you need to become a little bit healthier. Either way, you embark upon your exercise journey with diet, cardiovascular training and weight training. The majority of exercise programs are heavily weighted with cardiovascular training with a dabble of weight training thrown in there. So, if the majority of your exercise program will be cardiovascular training then you need to know the benefits of cardiovascular training.

The benefits can be broken down into three main parts. These include, weight loss, cardiovascular health and improved mood. There are other benefits, but the above three are the ones that have the most impact in all aspects of your life. Therefore, let's breakdown each component.

The most obvious benefit of training is for your weight loss, because most people are working out to lose weight. If you have ever tracked your calories on a treadmill you know that to lose weight takes time. To lose 1 pound of weight you need to drop 3500 calories through dieting and exercise. Depending on your efforts you can burn 300 - 500 calories per 45 - 60 minutes of treadmill work. As you can see that will take some time to get that first pound off your body and you should not rely on your exercise regimen alone. If you cut 300 calories per day dieting and then do a 300 calorie workout per day you will drop 600 calories per day. If you work out 6 days per week then you will roughly drop one pound per week.

The next benefit would be an improvement in your cardiovascular health. This obviously means that your heart is becoming healthier and more efficient to keep you alive. Typically you cannot measure this, but your doctor will be able to measure this over time with diagnostic studies. Just remember that with any exercise program you are training your heart and leading to a more efficient and healthier heart. Furthermore, as your heart becomes healthier and efficient you will be able to increase your cardiovascular training and ultimately burn more calories. This will lead to an increase in your weight loss. Just like above, you really need to be aware of your diet as fattier foods can lead to an increase in cholesterol plaques in your arteries and sabotage your training efforts. Not to mention fattier foods tend to have more calories and therefore it will be harder to drop calories per day if you are consuming high calorie food.

The final benefit we are going to address is the psychological factor of cardiovascular training. It has been shown through case studies and research that when people are active in an exercise regimen their signs of depression improve. This is because your body releases hormones called endorphins when you exercise. These hormones can lead to a euphoric effect and can improve your mood for days to come. This can really help in the colder months as there is a decrease in the amount of sunshine during those months and lack of sunshine has been shown to increase the incidence of depression.

As you begin your weight loss program it is nice to understand the benefits of cardiovascular training. Keep in mind that there are many benefits to cardiovascular training, but the three listed above have the greatest impact on peoples health and wellness. Remember that weight loss takes time and cardiovascular health is something that cannot be easily measured but is improved with your training. Finally your mood can improve dramatically and boost your overall health and wellness.

Acai Berry Weight Loss Review

The Acai Berry has been touted as the weight loss Super-food of the twentieth century. The Question is whether such billing is fact or hype. A quick search on the Internet would give an idea of the magnitude of the Acai's popularity. It stands to reason that the individual, seeking to lose weight, can become overwhelmed by all the "hoopla." Yet a cool head and a little research may yield some very interesting results about this Brazilian berry.

So, exactly what is Acai Berry? This fruit of a Palm, native to the Brazilian Amazon, is more than 90% seed and about 5% edible flesh. The dark purple color is indicative of the fact that the Berry is rich in anthocyanins, a potent antioxidant. Other nutrients contained in the fruit are associated with its anti-aging, weight loss, and cancer-fighting properties. Researchers at Texas A&M University, in a 2004 report, found that the antioxidants found in acai berry are highly absorbable and therefore, beneficial for human consumption.

It should be noted, however, that none of these nutrient compounds have been found to directly contribute to weight loss, even though it was shown that acai does seem to aid the body's metabolic process. Of the many compounds found in the berry, more than 65 have yet to be studied scientifically. As yet none of acai's compounds have shown to be direct weight loss enhancers.

Elsewhere, more recent Research at the University of Florida (Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, 2006) have found that the berry shows promise in the treatment of a range of diseases including cancer, leukemia and diabetes. Of course, there are other factors that affect the working of various nutrients in the body. These factors include absorption, assimilation and reaction with other substances in the body.

If you are seeking to lose weight the acai berry, as well as a number of other familiar fruits, should be a part of a healthy diet. However, do not follow the hype associated with the acai berry weight-loss diet. There is a lot more research to be done before the true benefits of acai, in weight-loss, are known. One factor hindering faster research, is the fact that the berry is highly perishable. This means that the berries must be processed immediately upon harvesting in order to preserve many of its nutritional compounds. It also means that much of the research work may need to be carried out on location, that is, closer to where the berries are harvested. A balanced and sensible nutritional approach is preferred here.

Since research is currently scant, it may be a wise course of action to consider using Acai in conjunction with other weight loss enhancers and not be taken in by all the advertising hype. As demand for this assumed super-food increases there may be attempts by some to dilute the contents of each pill in order to meet the rising demand. It must be remembered that it is the pulp of the berry that contain the nutrients and not the leaves, stems or roots. So products offering these leaves, stems or root extracts, must be rejected as worthless.

Already, there are the numerous complaints from users of acai weight loss products, that the results do not to match the claims. This may be an indication of one of two reasons. One reason is that the acai content of the particular product is woefully low. Check the label to determine the exact content of each capsule. The other reason may be an indicator that the berry itself may not boost any significant "lose-the-weight" nutrients. To date there is no known conclusive study supporting acai berry as a genuine weight loss super-food.

There are a great number of foods on the market, and acai berry could just be part of a well-balanced diet. This article proposes that lasting weight-loss is only effected with a balanced synergistic approach. An approach that incorporates both good nutrition and targeted physical exercise.

Why Weight Until Christmas

With Christmas and the New Years Eve only a few weeks away, this is the perfect time to lose those extra few pounds and look your best in the festive season.

Here are a few tips on how to get into that well desired Christmas party dress:

1. It's all about the carbs. Eat only low GL carbohydrates and protein - rich foods. This reduces hunger as well as our tendency to store fat. Try and select foods that have little effect on raising blood sugar levels, such as fresh vegetables, beans, lentils, whole grains and fish. Avoid refined foods, fruit juices and other sugary, sweet foods.

2. Good and bad fats ratio. Increase the amount of essential fats you eat, but keep down your saturated fat intake. Essential fats are mainly found in oily fish, flax seeds, nuts and seeds.

3. Try and resist the stimulants. Cut down on stimulants such as tea, coffee, chocolate, cigarettes and alcohol. These also disturb blood sugar balance which also affect both energy and weight control.

4. Aerobic exercise.Take aerobic exercise at least three times a week, running, swimming, brisk walking, low impact aerobics and so on.

5. Lose weight while you sleep. When you don't get enough sleep, it drives leptin levels down, which means you don't feel as satisfied after you eat. Lack of sleep also causes Ghrelin levels to rise, which means your appetite is stimulated, so you want more food.

6. Write everything down. Even (or especially) on bad/splurge days. It's only if you write things down that you know what you are doing.

7. Use probiotics to lose weight. Studies are showing that probiotics can actually help you lose weight. A recent study done at Stanford University has shown that the amount of good bacteria is higher in those who maintain a healthy weight and it's lower in those who are overweight. Researchers are suggesting that it's possible to increase your intake of healthy bacteria (probiotics) to lower your weight.

8. Drink water. Your body is estimated to be 60 to 70 percent water. Your blood, lungs, muscles and brain all consist mainly of water. Water is also required to regulate your body temperature during exercise. So as you might imagine it pretty important! It is also important for weight loss. Initial weight loss is often largely due to loss of water so you need to dink an adequate amount of water to avoid getting dehydrated. The process of burning calories during exercise creates toxins and water is essential in helping clear these.

9. Eat smaller portions. Eating smaller portions means that your body can burn more calories Training your body to eat smaller portions can be hard, especially if you are working a job that doesn't allow you to eat frequently. Sometimes carrying food on your person such as a small back of nuts or an organic

10. Eat more regularly. Eating 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day (grazing) may help to stabilise blood sugar levels which in turn means that you have more energy. Many people also find that hunger pains and appetite decreases because they are keeping their energy levels constant.

The 5 Unique Foods That Help the Pounds Fly Off

If you are like me, you are always on the weight loss war path as the warm weather starts creeping in. Dieting sucks and I'm too paranoid to take fad diet pills. Hey! I want to lose weight, but not enough to die over it because let's face it, if I'm dead all that weight loss won't mean a thing. That is why I am always looking for the best foods to aid me in my weight loss goals. I want good tasting food that won't make me feel deprived. I decided to pick some foods from each food group just to round it out better.

Cereal

That's right! I love the fact that I can eat cereal and get a full serving of whole grains at the same time. I hate cooking sometimes, and whole grain cereals like Cheerios Multi-Grain actually taste good. It beats eating plain old oatmeal, and it's excellent for hot days. This cereal is a great source of fiber too. The best part is that it can be eaten at any time of the day, and a smaller serving makes a great snack!

Apple

An apple a day, keeps your weight gain at bay! I guess some clichés (or play on words of them) are really true. According to a study that was conducted at Penn State University at University Park, eating an apple before a high in starch meal like pasta, you will eat less calories than if you chose another snack. That's great news for since I am addicted to spaghetti. Apples are uniquely filling since each apple contains as much as 5 grams of fiber. They are also a rich in antioxidants, making it a perfect snack.

Subway Sandwich

Now you can eat just like Jared! Yeah, I can't stand him either, but his obsession with Subway sandwiches wasn't completely off the mark. If you are a big meat eater, it is good to know that there alternatives to boiled chicken breasts (uugh!) Meat is a great source of protein, iron, and other awesome minerals, and the 6-inch roast beef roast beef sub only has 264 calories and 4.5 grams of fat. The best part is that you can also balance out your meal by adding fresh lettuce, tomato, and other green veggies like green peppers. Whenever I think of the green pepper I think of Homer Simpson's green pepper diet. Who knew that a cartoon could be so informative!

Eggs

This staple in every home really does have the best source of rich protein that you already have your hands on. Despite what is most commonly believed you don't have to eat it with just whites. You can scramble two egg whites with a half a yolk and you got a great meal. Spicing the eggs up with some cayenne pepper is perfect if you like a little spice in your life. The best part is that with eggs, you don't have to measure them out in servings.

Tuna

Fish had to be included because it is perfect as a weight loss tool. My favorite happens to be tuna. Just one can of light tuna (in water) provides an astonishing 42 g of high-quality protein, for under 200 calories. You will also benefit by getting more than 100 % of your Daily intake of vitamin B6, and B12.

Should Coffee Be In Your Weight Loss Program?

Should drinking lots of coffee be part of a weight loss program? Is it good or bad for your diet to stop at Starbucks on your way home from the gym? Without scientific support, men and women in surveys claim that caffeine increases their metabolic rate and fights off hunger for short periods of time. While there are two sides to every argument, some specialists believe that coffee is good for weight loss.

Experts speculate that the caffeine found in coffee causes your body to produce energy from food that has been eaten, and can actually help with short-term physical activities, such as team sports. In fact, it allows people to exercise harder without growing achy. Fatigue is fought off, and you can grow more vigilant. Another theory claims that you urinate more from drinking caffeine, resulting in less body fat. To sum it up, many researchers believe that coffee can actually help you lose weight.

Before you go running to the grocery store to stock up on coffee beans, you should know the down-sides to drinking too much caffeine for quick weight loss. First of all, sipping java will not be an overnight remedy to get skinny. When it comes to weight loss of any kind, the drink will cause a slow and gradual difference on your scale, if any. At the same time, too much caffeine leads to insomnia, anxiety, upset stomachs and even high blood pressure. Meanwhile, many specialized flavors of coffee are rich in calories. In fact, many men and women believe that giving up coffee as part of a weight loss program has actually helped their weight loss efforts. They feel that the addictive stimulant alters their moods, as well as adds to the size of their bellies.

Coffee plays with the chemicals in your brain, causing you to feel more alert. Yet, it can also make you feel nervous, as your blood sugar levels will fluctuate. The drink rouses your adrenals, leading to release of sugars in your body. Getting quality sleep becomes difficult. Too often, this unwanted effect is enough to cause stress and anxiety. With you urinated so often, you are losing vital minerals, such as magnesium, potassium and sodium. Folks also tend to consume fattening snacks, such as doughnuts, when they take their little coffee breaks at work. Think about it, how often do you order a piece of fruit to go along with your coffee?

Many physicians refer to caffeine as an artificial stimulant. Rather than caffeine, your weight loss program should depend on smart foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to give your body energy and mental alertness. Instead of coffee, drink plenty of water every day. Not only will H2O fill up your belly and cause you to eat less, it will also clean unhealthy toxins out of your body. Experts recommend drinking 8 glasses a day. If water is simply too boring for your taste, try drinking green tea to assist with all of your weight loss efforts.

Ever since I was grad school, I cannot start my day without my morning cup of java. Now that I am in my 40s, I have grown concerned on whether or not coffee assists or causes harm to my weight loss program? Everybody seems to have their own opinion. I decided to ask my family doctor how to lose weight fast without giving up coffee. He claims that weight loss is easy with the right tricks, such as powerful HCG Injections. Then I can drink all of the coffee I want. Thanks Doc!

How Protein Can Solve Your Weight Problems

Hey there, it's Axel here with a golden nugget of information for you. I hope most of you know what protein is and assume you know where you can find it. If not let me be quick; it is one of 3 major components most things edible (the other 2 being fats and carbohydrates).

You have probably heard the debates about who the real culprit is when it comes to weight gain, and I'll tell you who it's not: Protein. Of the 3 macro nutrients (protein/fats/carbs), carbs are the preferred source of fuel for your body, with fats put into storage for later use once the carbs are burnt. Our natural process for using fuel has been the same for 1000's of years. Once our body has digested the food, the carbohydrates are instantly turned into Glucose and are locked and loaded ready to be burnt, or converted into fat cells while watching TV.

After enough exercise, your body will run out of carbs to burn and will go into the fat supplies for fuel. Due to the large amounts of carbs in an average Australian diet, this can prove difficult to get to the fat supplies.

Eating less carbs and exercising more = A leaner you.

The difference between protein vs fats/carbohydrates, and what makes it so damn important is that it feeds your muscles rather than floating around waiting for you to be active. And unless you over indulge, they won't be sent to your fat stores around your hips and waist any time soon.

Protein is effective and important for every meal of the deal. Because of it's heaviness, it leaves you feeling full. A high protein meal reduces the amount of carbs and fats as a result. Don't be afraid of going for a steak, just make sure you get a salad on the side. You may still be getting a serving of fat, but with less carbs in your diet you are going to be tapping into your fat stores and burning them up sooner. Chicken is an even better, leaner option. And tastes delicious.

How much protein should I eat?

The inactive adults' recommendation is 1g of protein per kilogram of bodyweight. If you are reading this then hopefully you are already taking some form of action, in which case you need around 1.5g. To give you an idea, a small can of tuna is 15g of protein. A 300g steak is about 50g. If you weigh 70kg, then go ahead and eat 100g of protein a day.

Here's a list of protein rich foods:

1. eggs

2. legumes

3. nuts

4. meat

5. dairy

Limit your carbs to early meals, to give your body it's fuel for the day. Eat it with dinner, and you won't get a chance to burn it off before bed time.

Salads, Soups, Steaks. That's your new diet.

Eat your meat.

Weight Loss Help - Pharmaceutical Weight Loss Drugs Are a Dead End

Have you ever listened carefully to some of those commercials from the pharmaceutical drug companies advertising a product and what it can do for you, followed up by just as much time going down the list of it's known side effects and other warnings? It's almost unbelievable that after all that, people still go ahead and buy the drug.

It seems that most people in America would rather risk a potentially dangerous side effect instead of taking a little more time and effort in researching and implementing a natural treatment or cure for their problem or symptoms.

Neither the FDA, or the pharmaceutical drug industry want us in the general public to go out and find treatments and cures for our medical problems from a natural source, they wouldn't make billions a year in profits that way.

The weight loss industry is a perfect example of this. There are proven ways to burn fat and lose weight with natural food substances but the drug-made version seems more of a "magic pill", I mean, how could a simple natural substance compete with a man-made drug?

The reality is, science can't improve upon nature, and every drug has a negative adverse side effect that can create in your body, another problem that is un-related to the reason you took the drug in the first place.

You only need to read the factual information on the drug product's website or labeling to learn about the list of side effects each one has.

The problem with losing weight with drugs gets worse. Weight lose drugs only work when you are taking them, so when your supply runs out and you don't keep ordering them, that's it. But here's the problem, many of these drugs have a warning of possible addiction to pro-longed use. Of course, with pro-longed use of any drug, there are far more potential side effects than addiction.

So, what the pharmaceutical companies are telling us is that you can lose weight by taking these drugs only as long as you are taking them, but there are certain health risks involved if you take them for a long period of time.

If you decide to only take them for a short period, say one month to see if you can maybe lose 10 or 15 pounds, the weight you lost will always come back because you will still have a slow metabolism and the same, if not bigger food cravings for the junk food you were eating before.

Don't ruin your health with drugs, choose a safe and effective natural alternative and start burning calories that will stay off in the long run.

What Does the Non-Diet Approach to Weight Loss Include?

The non-diet approach to weight loss can be very beneficial to those that have struggled with an unhealthy relationship with food. This is because it focuses on more than the weight loss aspect of dieting. A well-rounded program focuses on all aspects of dieting. It can help bring true happiness to your life. If you have used food as a source of comfort in the past, you can be free to live a life without an emotional reliance on food.

Physical

The non-diet approach to weight loss does focus on the physical aspect of losing weight. After all, that is one of the main goals. However, it is only a small part of this type of weight loss program. Many diets are designed to help you lose weight quickly. Unfortunately, after these diets there is a strong likelihood of gaining it back. The non-diet weight loss program teaches you to develop a relationship with your body. Allow your body to dictate what you eat and when. Diets that tell you to eat certain foods at certain times are very restricting. Your body will begin to fight back, and you can ultimately gain weight. The non-diet approach is a natural and healthy alternative.

Emotional

Your emotional eating stems from somewhere. That is why it is important to focus on the emotional aspect of your weight gain as well. By learning what caused your weight gain and overcoming it, you can eliminate overeating from your life. A licensed therapist can teach you to begin focusing on yourself. A support group is also helpful. The members of a weight loss support group are often the only ones that know what you have been through. They can be a great source of comfort during the tough times.

Mental

After years of dieting and binge eating, you may have developed myths about yourself and dieting. You must begin to take these myths and deconstruct them. By learning where they came from, you can easily dispel these myths. You can then begin to change those negative myths into positive truths. They should become your new life mantra. When you change your thinking, you can feel motivated to lose weight and live a life of happiness. Do not become bogged down by the negative.

Behavioral

The non-diet approach to weight loss also teaches you to focus on the behaviors you need to reach your goal weight. Look at the triggers and behaviors that occurred while you were binge eating. By knowing what triggers you, you can be better prepared to handle them. When these triggers occur, have a list of alternative behaviors to do in place of overeating. These activities should not focus on food, but rather on things that bring about the same type of happiness. This will reduce binge eating and lead to healthy weight loss.

How to Lose 10 Pounds

Are you asking "How can I lose 10 pounds?" are you feeling frustrated that you just cannot get rid of those extra pounds? Whether you need to lose 10 pounds or maybe even more, there are a few great tips to help you lose weight quickly and painlessly.

1. Eat lots of vegetables: All kinds the more the better. Vegetables have a ton of essential vitamins and minerals. They have lots of fiber too and will help you feel full and energized.

2. Eat Legumes: Beans have lots of protein and calcium. They give great energy and help maintain your blood sugar at normal levels.

3. Eat Fruit: Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth and curbs cravings. It's also great for your body and immune system.

4. Avoid salt: Try to eliminate salt from your food. Try using herbs, spices and citrus juice to flavor your food. Salt raises blood pressure and causes people to retain water weight.

5. Avoid Oil: All oil, even those considered by most to be healthy have a huge amount of calories and almost always are converted straight to fat that gets deposited on your bottom, hips and everywhere else.

6. Avoid Sugar: Sugar causes your blood sugar to rise, your body will respond by producing more insulin. Big fluctuations in insulin will cause you to feel poorly and also make you eat more.

7. Avoid processed food: These foods are almost always high in fat, salt and sugar. All of which give you an undesired result for those trying to lose weight.

8. Exercise: most agree that 30 minutes a day of mild to moderate exercise, at least three days a week can help raise your metabolism. Can't make the time? Try choosing a parking space further away from the store entrance, or take the stairs when possibly. This can help you get your half an hour in before you even realize you have reached your goal.

9. Limit Grains: Try to limit grains such as whole wheat bread, brown rice and whole grain pasta to one serving a day. Avoid all white bread, pasta and white rice as these can cause your blood sugar to fluctuate causing hunger and cravings.

10. Limit Dairy, Fish, Beef, Pork, Poultry and Eggs: All of which have large amounts of calories and are more difficult for your body to digest. Try to eat only one portion a week.

Do remind yourself that you are worth all the effort it takes to eat a healthy and nutritious diet. Remember the more fruit, vegetables and legumes you eat the faster you can lose 10 pounds. Be happy knowing that you will look and feel better. If you have any existing medical conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure, please consult with your physician before implementing any new diet or exercise program as medication may need to be lowered as you become healthier.

Getting Healthy and Feeling Wellness

Almost all of us wish we could keep the feelings we have right now, over the Christmas holidays and into the new year, all year long. Happy, caring, giving and wanting to experience all the goodies that this time of year has to offer. And why not; Christmas and New Years only comes once a year. Well the feelings are marvelous but the holiday festivities, the parties, the traditional foods and sweets that are nye on irresistible can add problems to our weight, wellness and, in fact, to the state of our health for the rest of the year.

Just as a point of interest, what are two of the most widely made promises to ourselves at this time of year, dare I call them resolutions. Well the first one is to lose weight and the second is to get healthier. Both promises are admirable and well worth the effort and I do mean effort.

But how many of us well-meaning people follow through past the first week in January? Certainly, from my experience, on too many occasions, I missed the wagon and never even had a chance to fall off.

What would be my goal with this writing is to bring to the attention of our community some very well documented facts that are quite jolting and will cause more damage if not addressed and taken seriously.

One of the most serious problems on the North American continent today is obesity. One in two adults is considered obese and what is even more distressful is that one in three children is considered obese. One of the reasons why this has become an extreme concern is probably the way we live, eat, work, sleep and play. In short, our life style. Why is it that our parents and grand parents, on average, lived longer than the people of today? One answer is they lived in moderation. They worked hard, they ate balanced meals and they got adequate amounts of sleep to rejuvenate their bodies and their minds. By and large, their fun was in the community either with family or friends.

Now let's compare the healthy lifestyles of the mature folks, our grand parents and in some cases our parents, to the lifestyles of today. A number of us are feeling the pinch of the North American financial situation. Companies down-sizing and making the people remaining with a job do more to make up for the people who have been laid off. In fact, this financial stress is starting to appear around the world and especially in Europe. This causes the two parents in the family to go out to work. This situation causes stress on the parents and stress on the children. One of the main reasons mentioned by the folks that want to work from home is that they want to raise their own children and not leave the responsibility to the baby sitters. Having to drop them off at an early morning hour and pick them up after 5:00 PM in the evening. Will we be able to cover the bills this month? How can we afford to make it look like we are doing OK? No time to eat balanced meals, let's have a "drink" which we think makes us feel better when all it really does is depress us. The pollution of all manner and sorts which we are engulfed in makes it a very hostile environment in which we live. Is it any wonder that with all this happening in a large number of families, that it is difficult to eat balanced meals, get adequate sleep or sleep at all and avoid the things that are harmful to our bodies.

Let me mention one of the more startling facts in the regard of today's lifestyle regarding health and wellness and that is, across North America, 70% of the visits to the doctor's office are caused by lack of energy and stress. Can you imagine how much money it is costing the governments of Canada and the United States just to deal with these two maladies, stress and lack of energy.

Now let me get back to where this article started. We are now in one of the happiest times of the year. All of us strive to make Christmas a time we want to remember. So let's work toward being healthy and feeling wellness. We owe it to ourselves and to our families to feel great, have energy and ensure that our bodies are receiving the proper nutrients to give us the chance to be that way.

My message the community at this time of year is for all of us to be alert to the very prevalent and dangerous situation that exists generally throughout the North American continent regarding health and wellness. This is after all a very good time to make a promise to yourself to get healthy and provide for yourself the proper nutrients and safe products to loose weight and gain energy and wellness.

I wish you all to get healthy and feel wellness from now on. You will thank yourself for the present.

It's Okay to Daydream While You Diet!

Are you reading this while trying to pretend that you don't have the craving for some unhealthy snack? A cookie perhaps, or a bag of chips? Its okay! It's normal and healthy to daydream about cheating on your diet.

It's perfectly okay and you shouldn't let yourself feel all downhearted and guilty that you still have that desire for unhealthy foods. Don't fall for those claims that some diet companies make about "our plan is so great you'll never want to eat X again!" You most probably WILL want to eat those foods again - and that's okay.

There are some diet mavens who say that once you've weaned yourself off sugar, you won't crave it any longer. However, this isn't true for everyone. A lot of traps we fall into when dieting happen because of previous habits, not because of a biological happening.

So, it's nice to know you're normal. But what action can you take? It can often feel like these daydreams will lead to a complete breakdown and failing on your diet. But they don't necessarily have to.

A great way to put your food issues behind you is to face them head on. If you ignore those issues and feelings and try to suppress them for long enough, then you may well end up bingeing on a day when your willpower is low and your motivation just isn't there.

You need to stop thinking of yourself as "a dieter" - someone who has had to forgo a certain type of food for the remainder of your life. You might have cut out that food while you're on the road to health and fitness, but it doesn't have to be forever forbidden. It's just eliminated until you have your food issues firmly under control.

Then over time, as you begin to accept this concept, you will find yourself dreaming (and drooling!) about those favorites less often. Soon you'll be able to just go about your daily business without even thinking about them at all.

Daydreaming becomes a kind of therapy. You are mentally missing those foods, so your mind tries to relive those old experiences for you. This can be a real opportunity for growth and on the day when you finally realize "hey, I didn't think about pizza/chocolate/burgers at all today!" - that's going to bring a massive sense of pride and accomplishment.

The journey to health can be a long one. You can't expect to just give up your previous poor eating habits one day and then wake up in the morning with a new body and new food regime! You have to prepare, physically and mentally, to get you into a space where you have a fit body and a mind which is reliably working to help you make the healthy choices towards fast weight loss.

Healthy Eating For Weight Loss Is Not About Counting Calories

Weight loss needs to be all about healthy eating and should have nothing to do with counting calories. Restricting your calorie intake in an effort to lose weight is one of those myths based on a complete lack of understanding of the underlying problem.

This misunderstanding starts by judging people who are overweight or obese. The feeling is that these people simply eat too much. That they are greedy. While this may be the case in a very few individuals, it is NOT true in most people.

Let's examine the problems with a calorie controlled diet.

For a start, it can be complicated. While you are trying to juggle work, family demands, household chores, etc trying to remember which food contains what calories is likely to be low on your list of priorities.

Secondly, and more importantly, calories have nothing to do with healthy food. In a calorie controlled diet, you can end up eating very unhealthy foods, but remain within your target. This means your health will deteriorate over time. Not the best way to lose weight.

You are likely to be hungry all the time, on a calorie controlled diet. This, in itself, shows how unhealthy the diets really are. Your hunger may not just be because you are not eating enough food based on your activity, your body type, your metabolic rate and other important factors to consider, that rarely are considered.

Your hunger is much more likely to be because your body is not getting the quality nutrients from your food. If your body is nutrient deficient, you will be virtually hungry all the time. And unhealthy. This is the key to your excess weight. Few dieticians or weight loss programme creators understand this.

On the other hand, if you forget all about calories, even food portions, but instead use a programme which has its foundation in quality health improvement, then you can see permanent improvements.

Permanent weight loss can only come about when you look at the whole of you and what your body needs to function properly and to be healthy. Healthy eating for weight loss gives you proper nutrition, without limit, whenever you need it. The more you eat, the more weight drops off. The very opposite of what you have been led to believe.

Learn to recognise that both weight loss and good health is more about nutrition, about eating quality healthy foods, than it ever is about calories.

Easy Weight Loss Tips to Jump-Start Your Weight Loss

Here we are again to talk to you about losing weight.

We have foods we call "comfort foods", such as starchy carbs which make us drowsy or relaxed, while foods that are high in protein, can make us mentally alert when we are feeling tired, like fish, poultry and dairy products.

If we are overweight and we want to lose those extra pounds, we must question ourselves and find where our weak points are. Very possibly our overweight is due to excessive negative carbs, low protein and little, if any physical activity!

If we are serious about losing that weight, then we must take charge of our life, (it depends on our actions) and we must ask our self: Where is it that we are tempted to overeat or eat the wrong things? Is it at the movies, where we can eat that popcorn loaded with "butter"? Those Nachos with cheese?

At home in front of our TV? Or perhaps it is at work, where every day someone brings dough-nuts or perhaps a cake for a Birthday? Maybe you buy yours snacks from that Vending Machine with all those goodies.

When you have identified your weak spots, avoid them by taking with you a healthy fruit snack instead, even a low fat pretzel will work. Watch those fruits that are high in sugar content. Try snacks with nuts that are low in fat and sodium.

Avoid those fast food places where the food is loaded with saturated fats, sugars and carbs, while at the same time being very low in fiber and I wonder if you really want to know about the use of cattle body parts to make those hamburger patties. I could tell you about them and gross you out, but take my word for it, avoid those fast food burgers like you would avoid the plague! And if you have children, please don't give it to them.
We as parents sometimes think that because our children are young, it's OK to feed them whatever garbage they ask for. That is where we are supposed to come in to teach them about eating healthy foods.

In my experience I have seen parents having to take their children for a Lab-work only to find out that all those French fries, fried ripe bananas and other fried foods their children are eating, have caused them to develop very high cholesterol. Remember, just because they are young doesn't mean they are immune to illness just as we are. Just because they are fat, does not mean they are healthy!

Let us set an example, pack up healthy lunches, not processed meats, such as ham, bologna etc. Processed foods are loaded with fats, sodium and nitrite to enhance color and extend the shelve life and that includes our beloved hot dogs.

How To Lose Weight By Simply Chewing Food

You can lose weight by eating chewy food. A Japanese study found women eating chewy or crunchy foods lost weight and they had slimmer waistlines than women who ate softer foods. It was not the chewing that got the results it was the fact they were eating food their bodies took longer to digest. Their bodies had to work harder to digest the chewy food, which used up calories in the process. This is not new but it is a slightly different approach. Mind you, you would still need to make sure the food was good food - not chewy toffees or candies.

Another important reason the women lost weight is because they did not want to eat as much. This type of food has more fibre, which is more satisfying because we feel fuller for longer. The longer the food takes to digest the longer it takes for the body to feel hungry again. Eating this food on a regular basis avoids the sudden spike in blood sugar, which leads to wanting more food a little later.

If you want to try this, here are some of the foods regarded as chewy or crunchy:

Meat is an obvious one. Make sure it is lean meat. Take the skin off turkey and chicken
Fruit like apples and pineapples are crunchy and chewy. Most fruit has plenty of fibre, which you could class as chewy
Nuts are crunchy of course but they are also very dense in calories so you would not go onto a nut diet. But a few every day is good as they contain essential fatty acids
Bread can be chewy, but it needs to be whole grain. Breakfast cereals like muesli, oats and bran need to be chewed and can be crunchy
Most vegetables are regarded as chewy but some are chewier than others - celery, raw carrots, cabbage, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Cooked pumpkins, carrots, parsnips and potatoes can be crunchy or at least chewy, if they are not overcooked
Pasta and some noodles could come under the chewy category because we do have to chew them. How chewy it is can depend on the cook of course

We can help our bodies lose weight by eating food that takes longer to digest. This speeds up the body's metabolism, which makes it work harder, which makes it use up energy. Using energy means using calories. That's why a balanced diet should contain protein, fruit, vegetables and whole grains, as they all take longer to digest. If we stayed away from the non-chewy food, we would not eat soft food such as cake, white bread or creamy desserts.

While the Japanese study is a new slant on an old truth, it can remind us not to feed our bodies too much of the easy food to digest, because it will have the opposite effect to the chewy and crunchy foods - it will put on weight.

Eating chewy foods is one of the ways to lose weight. You will find more ideas on how to lose weight when you visit http://www.squidoo.com/how-can-i-lose-weight-now William Burnell enjoys the benefits of following a healthy lifestyle and likes to help others to do the same.

The Secrets - Tips To Lose the Baby Belly

We all take pride in our appearance, spending endless hours in front of mirrors to groom ourselves, playing up our assets. When it comes to motherhood, nothing is as delightful for a woman as this experience. Nothing equals the joy of holding that little angel close to your chest but does this imply you have to sacrifice your physical appeal?

Losing the baby belly is the much talked about topic for almost every new mom. While becoming a mommy has its charm, the belly fat lingering on your body is there all the same. For the first-timers, the pregnancy belly is not familiar territory. The good news is that with a little effort and a few simple tips, you can take control of your body and get your body back.

Lose the Belly Fat- Secrets of Success

The tips mentioned below are to help you get the pre-pregnancy toned tummy back. Your doctor must give you a release after delivery before any exercise and weight loss program should be started.

Lose the Baby Belly- Tip NO 5

The idea is to 'burn more calories than you take in'. The whole fitness industry revolves around this theory. You can go for increased calorie burn or you can reduce the number of calories you consume each day or a combination of both. No matter how you decide to do it, you can lose the belly fat.

Exercising while not making any cut-downs on your calorie intake will take you longer to see the results and help you build muscle that will still be buried under those accumulated layers of fat. Whatever path you choose to battle the fat loss, it should amount to lower calorie intake, using food as fuel and increased calorie burn whether you achieve it through diet, exercise or a combination of the two.

Lose the Baby Belly- Tip NO 4

Choose a practical success mantra for yourself. Each of us have a different personality, some prefer exercise while others find dieting easier. Be realistic with your goals and expectations. Squeeze exercise into your schedule and make an eating plan. Success will come sooner if you give all the aspects a thorough thought. Remember, you don't have to spend countless hours working out. Get your heart rate up, dance around the house, run up and down stairs or walk your baby. Add some strength training even if you get just a few reps in while the baby is sleeping. Anything is something!

Lose the Baby Belly- Tip NO 3

Dieting will only work for you if it is based on something you like. If you go for fancier meals, there is a huge assortment of sinfully delicious yet healthy recipes for you. If saving time is a priority, you can go for the simpler, healthier stuff. Don't let food rule your diet, use food as fuel for your diet. Eating 6 times a day and balancing your use of carbohydrates, protein and good fat will help you stay satisfied.

Lose the Baby Belly- Tip NO 2

Exercise is a must for losing the belly fat and like diet, it should not be something too stressful as it will discourage you in no time at all. Start with the simpler workouts and increase the difficulty level slowly and steadily.

Lose the Baby Belly- Tip NO 1

Stay motivated and focus on your goal. Don't get possessed with the scale or measuring yourself. If you don't see the results as quickly as you expect, you may get discouraged. Eating right with exercise will get you results and you will start to lose the baby belly fat.

Weight Loss and Your Endocrine System

Hormones belong to the body's endocrine system. They are directly involved in weight loss efforts. Hormones are chemical messengers that are produced by glands such as the pancreas, adrenals, thyroid, and the pituitary. When hormones are released into the bloodstream they have the purpose of creating some type of effect in some area of the body. Basically, hormones tell the body what to do. The glands that produce these hormones regulate effects in designated areas of the body.

There are certain hormones that are responsible for the type of fat that is stored. These hormones also designate where on the body that fat is placed. The combination of these two things in large part leads to distortions in body shape. Hence, it also poses challenges in weight loss given the differences in the types of fat that is being stored along with the non even distribution of that stored fat throughout the body. This non even distribution of stored fat is also driven by the fact that fat in reality is stored energy. The body tends to place fat stores around vital organs to insure that these organs are always backed up by a ready reserve of energy so that they can always function.

Key to the discussion of weight loss are these hormones and glands that regulate metabolism. There are six fat burning hormones and three fat storing hormones which will be discussed in detail in coming posts. Weight management is governed by the actions and interactions of these 9 metabolic hormones.

Excessive body weight is a symptom of an unhealthy endocrine system. The problems can be with either the glands or the hormones, or it can be with both. When this system has problems our health and well-being is at risk.

The unhealthy state of our endocrine systems results from several different factors, the most prominent being the foods that we consume along with all of the environmental toxins / chemicals that we are exposed to particularly in the developed world.

There is evidence that the use of growth hormones to fatten poultry, cattle, and even farm raised fish that we eat are the source of developmental and other problems that affect our health and well-being. Added to this are the junk foods, fast foods, refined carbohydrates, and a preponderance of sugar that is hidden in many, many, of the foods that we buy and consume. Our bodies have been greatly compromised.........so has the body's ability to burn fat naturally as was intended.

Environmental toxins such as pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, plastics and solvents all play a role in keeping us in an unhealthy state. The endocrine system is very sensitive to these environmental chemicals that we are exposed to daily (endocrine disruptions).

Real, it ain't gonna come back weight loss cannot occur until we first take the steps to make our bodies healthy. When we reach a healthy / healthier state of being, weight loss will happen naturally as the result of eating the foods that encourage fat burning as opposed to fat storage. Eating the right foods will free us from obesity and the potential for developing the chronic and life threatening diseases that are a part of this vicious cycle!

Losing those stubborn pounds and then keeping them off permanently must focus on addressing the issue of excessive body weight at the source of the problem, an unhealthy compromised endocrine system.

We will continue this discussion about hormones and the critical role that they play in weight loss in coming posts.

Lose the Baby Belly - Walk Your Weight Away!

Coping with that protruding pouch several weeks even after your delivery can be a torment for new moms. While you cannot contain the happiness and joy associated with holding Lord's most beautiful creation in your arms, it is your baby belly and extra weight that gives you the creeps, eclipsing your delight.

After delivery, you are stuck with that inflated pregnancy belly with layers of fat so stubborn that they refuse to go away. This scenario is common to all new moms and if you think you have lost your body for good, think again. Highly effective for losing the belly fat is walking. Helping you lose your baby belly, with walking it will not be long and you will see results getting you back into the clothes you desire.

Walk Your Way To A Toned Tummy!

Walking is an ideal exercise as it not only helps you lose the belly fat but fight the postpartum blues. Finding only 30 minutes in between those sessions of nursing and diaper changing seems next to impossible. What you do not know is squeezing a three minute walk in your demanding schedule will be just as effective as a half hour walk for losing the belly fat.

To find the best way to lose the baby belly through walking, read on.

Lose the Baby Fat By Walking Your Mornings Away

In order to lose the baby belly, you have to adopt a style of walking we term as the 'interval walk'. The idea is to lose about 80 to 100 calories in about 10 minutes. This way you won't have to specially carve out time. You can have your baby in the stroller or front carrier and you are all set to go.

Lose The Belly Fat With Interval Walk- How To Do It?

This interval walk is characterized by two speeds. You will start with a one minute brisk walk and then you will walk at a faster pace for a minute again. This cycle of one minute walk at different speeds has to be repeated five times to account for the whole ten minutes.

While you may think that the interval walk is just an endeavor at burning more calories, the truth is this walk is aimed at calf stretching and shin strengthening. Moreover, it also helps you stretch the muscles in your hips. If you focus on tightening your stomach muscles while you are walking and during your faster interval this will highly impact your stomach area.

Losing the baby belly may seem like a no-win situation at first. Walking will help you spring back to your pre pregnancy shape, give you energy and help those after baby hormone changes.

Discover the Best Methods to Suppress Food Cravings From Diet Programs

Losing weight is rarely easy, especially when you have to fight off hunger pains all day. Sure, many techniques exist to crave your hunger, from relying on appetite suppressants to combinations of special foods and timing out your meals and snacks. However, nothing seems to work. You are always dealing with a slight headache because your stomach feels empty. Slimming down your physique may seem impossible. While there are no magic diet programs that eliminate hunger, several effective methods do exist to help you lose weight by fighting off painful and annoying cravings for food.

To begin, make sure you eat a smart breakfast. Besides getting plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, oatmeal is a fantastic dish to start out your day. The high amount of fiber in every bowl successfully fights off hunger for hours at a time. Adding a little flaxseed oil to your oatmeal even fills up your belly for long periods of time. Of course, real oatmeal is much superior to instant brands that lack high amounts of fiber. Even still, instant oatmeal is better for diet programs than any doughnut shop's drive-through window.

Not unlike your breakfasts, you can add flaxseed oil to just about everything you eat throughout the day. Not only does it fight off cravings for food, the high amounts of omega-3 found in flaxseed oil are also wonderful for your heart. Simply toss a bit of flaxseed oil over your salad at lunch, as well as to your vegetables at dinner to quickly fill up your tummy, allowing you to consume less food.

When it comes to picking the right produce, apples are ideal for losing weight. Sure, the fruit has some calories, but they're not even in the same ballpark as French fries. Whether they are red or green, apples' fibers fill up your belly, allowing your stomach to feel satisfied for hours at a time. Green vegetables have the same anti-hunger effect on your body. Consume plenty of calorie-free lettuce, cabbage and other green veggies. You can always spice up your snacks by making a colorful salad. Be sure not to spoil the health benefits by covering your dish with a fattening salad dressing.

As simple as it may sound, drinking plenty of water is fantastic for helping you curve any hunger pains. Carry plastic bottles with you everywhere you go. Whenever your stomach begins too growl, simply take a big gulp of H2O. Within 10 or 15 minutes, your hunger pains should go away. Of course, drinking tap water can be just as effective, even if it is not as convenient. Doctors recommend drinking 8 glasses of agua a day to fill up your belly, while flushing unwanted toxins out of your body.

While you should exercise on a daily basis to convert stored body fat into energy and fight off any cravings for food, you also need an adequate amount of sleep. Without enough shut-eye, you will probably eat more food to boost your energy level. Doctors recommend getting 8 hours of quality sleep every night to help suppress all forms of food cravings and get skinny.

Since reaching my 40s, my belly has blown up like a giant balloon. Even if I think it's cute, my doctor claims that my weight is becoming a serious health issue. I told him that I am always hungry, and I asked him how to lose weight fast? The doctor suggested powerful HCG Injections, along with other easy tricks to fight off my food cravings to see quick weight loss results. Thanks Doc!

A New Start, Without the Weight

Routines become ingrained in everyone, and the more a person becomes used to a certain way of doing things, the harder it is to break free from it. With weight gain a significant problem for so many people, the idea that the answer is nothing more than "eat less and exercise" feels superficial. Of course eating less and exercising is the goal, but eating is not something that a person can quit "cold turkey," so learning how to eat less can actually be a complicated thing.

This is why going on a luxury vacation that is also a weight loss camp provides a perfect fresh start. Reinventing habits, learning about new kinds of food, and practicing relaxation techniques and non-stressful kinds of exercise can all be part of a successful shift in outlook and self-direction. A week may not seem like much time when you're running around the office, chasing after your kids, or scrambling to get a proposal in on time, but when it is all about you, seven days can have a huge impact on your life.

Through a variety of methods, such as hypnosis, yoga, working with a personal trainer, or taking cooking lessons, clients can work toward their goals. Seeing that you can lose weight in a week will motivate you to take the knowledge that you gain back home with you. That knowledge can provide a basis for a new way to think about diet, weight gain, and health. If you form the right habits, you can be healthy and happy with your weight.

A good weight loss camp is not just a chance to get away from fast food for a while, but a chance to renew your relationship to food. Yes, you will be able to lose weight in a week, but what matters even more is that you can learn to have a healthy diet, have good physical habits and maintain the kind of body you want. The key

You may find that what makes the most difference in your life is becoming a better chef, or learning about the right kinds of ingredients to use in your food. Or perhaps what you need is a strong arm to force you out of bed and onto the running track every morning. Whatever it is, if you spend time at a weight loss camp with all of these opportunities, you can consider which ones are most important for your long term lifestyle changes.

The first step is to lose weight in a week in a luxury environment where you don't have to worry about anyone but yourself. You'll come back refreshed, revitalized, looking better than ever, and ready for the next chapter of your life. To be successful in the long run, you want to develop new habits, new attitudes toward eating and positive associations with dieting, and a fitness retreat is just the way to achieve that.

Over three years ago, George Rolf was able to lose weight in a week at a luxurious weight loss boot camp. Since that time, Rolf has blogged extensively and become a commonly quoted source for various magazines and news outlets. In addition to blogging, he also mentors those wishing to become more healthy.

Can a Fitness Holiday Really Make a Difference?

Losing weight is a difficult task for most people. To really shed pounds and then keep it all off, you need to develop a new lifestyle. Healthier cooking, better restaurant choices, and regular exercise can put you on the road to real, lasting weight loss. Essentially, you must become a new person. A health farm can be a great way to do this, but not everyone finds the idea appealing. For many, the words "health farm" conjure up images of dormitories with bunk beds, early morning wake up calls, disgusting food, and workouts that feel like torture. However, there is also a type of health farm that is less like a military boot camp and more like a fitness holiday.

Part bootcamp, part gourmet dining experience, part relaxation spa, a fitness holiday allows you to learn new ways of thinking about food and exercise. There is plenty of exercise, but it can include enjoyable activities like hiking in the countryside. The staff is supportive and encouraging, and can help you find ways to work around your physical limitations. A good fitness holiday should feel like a luxury spa, with comfortable private rooms and other activities in addition to exercise.

The idea behind a fitness holiday is to learn new lifestyle changes, and practice them before returning home to the temptations and shortcuts of everyday life. Not only should this type of retreat offer excellent food, there should also be some nutrition education and even cooking classes. Before you leave, you should know how to cook your own deliciously healthy meals. You should return home with ideas for meal planning, grocery shopping, and what to order at a restaurant. Few people have the time to cook an extensive meal, and you need to know how to prepare fast, healthy, and delicious foods. Remember, you can't make a lasting change in your diet if you do not find healthier foods you enjoy. A fitness retreat can help you discover new foods that suite your palate.

A health retreat should include more than just good food and plenty of exercise. For it to truly be a holiday, there should be some time to relax and enjoy yourself. A good retreat will have activities like yoga and offer services like massage. A massage and some relaxation in the sauna can help soothe sore muscles and make the journey to fitness more enjoyable. Some retreats even offer hypnotherapy to help you retrain your mind. Although guests at a health retreat will work hard, they can also enjoy themselves and relax at the same time.

The most important reason to consider a weight loss retreat is how effective this type of program can be. A retreat offers the opportunity to leave old habits behind and learn new ways of thinking. There is time to build new habits and routines that persist even after you return home.

After attending a luxury health farm three years ago, freelance writer George Rolf started a blog to educate and inspire those who wish to take a fitness holiday. With daily topics ranging from reviews of luxury fitness retreats to post-health farm weight loss to healthy recipe, Rolf is able to offer guidance and information to those seeking to gain or maintain control of their weight and overall wellness.

Start Manifesting Weight Loss

You may be struggling to lose weight and be wondering why you don't seem to be able to achieve results. During the holiday season it may seem even more difficult and stressful. You may even end up surrounded by family and friends who judge you more harshly and critically than you wish. If you have wondered why time and time again, despite all good intentions, you have struggled to actually once and for all shed the pounds, your will may not be the problem. You may be struggling with the issue of a poorly programmed mind.

If you continue to struggle time after time, you can rest assured that you have somewhere in your brain decided that making the change would be too painful to achieve or that to give up the ability to eat what you want on demand would take away your pleasure. This poorly programmed brain will inevitably focus you back to eating time and time again. That is why after a period of dieting that would be described as a great success you immediately begin to overeat and gain the weight back. Your mind is desperate to put you back in order in the way you have subconsciously demanded.

The mind is an amazing tool that can create and achieve any goal we give to it. The trick is to firmly believe that it must be achieved and reprogram the brain to give you the help you need to easily begin to lose the weight. The first step is to begin journaling. On page 1 of your journal, as soon as you open your notebook, write out in clear measurable terms your weight loss goals. I want to lose 50 lbs and be 130 pounds by June 30th. Make sure it is clear, measurable and written!

Your second step is to spend time investigating the reasons you think that changing your eating habits would create pain is a great first step. Start a journal and begin writing. Ask yourself questions surrounding your emotions regarding your eating and dieting. What is actually going on inside? Are there certain words or statements that you use before you break your diet? Is it when your upset? Happy? Do you give your diet much thought before you break it or is it a distant thought in the background? Once you get a handle on what is actually happening, you can begin to use tools to actually begin to manifest the weight loss you so desire.

Once you've spent time looking at how your mind has protected you in the past, the next step is to reprogram. Open the journal again, and begin writing what will happen if you fail to make this change. Write in explicit detail exactly what it will mean if you do not lose the weight. For instance someone might write "if I don't lose the weight I will not be able to keep up with my children. It will mean that I won't be able to coach their cheerleading squad. I won't be the type of parent i had always dreamed of being. Nothing is more important to me than how I parent my children." Get the idea? Really get in touch with what the consequences will be if you do not change.

Finally, your fourth step is to write in joyful and expressive detail what losing the weight will mean to you. What will it feel like? What will the effect in your life be? How will it change your life. Feel it, smell it, taste it and then write about it.

Change doesn't happen without making a decision to break the habits that have been holding you back. THis work will allow you to understand what has been keeping you down and what needs to change in your life. It is still up to you to make the decision that enough is enough. When you finally make the decision, you can create rapid change in your weight loss goals.

You can make any change or achieve any goal easily and with ease. Get my 5 tips special report as my gift to you free at http://www.newunstoppableyou.com/.

Let's Party and Lose Weight

This time of year besides the million and one items on our to do lists there are numerous invitations to business and personal holiday networking events with overflowing buffets, open bar cocktail parties and of course the "deadly dessert" assortments.

It is challenging to be organized, on time, appropriately dressed and giving positive vibes to people you meet. The displayed foods are so abundant and inviting; how can we manage to enjoy these social events and come away in the same healthy body we work so hard to maintain?

After so many failed attempts by my clients I have formulated a strategy to be successful during this time of the year. I am gratified to report that my strategy has worked for them. They no longer fear these events but now enjoy the sense of empowerment they possess.

Let's now focus on you at your event. One of the best decisions you can make is to assess what is being offered? Really take a good look and see what you can eat, what the portion size looks like and most important can you serve yourself? Walking the buffet is a great time killer and successful strategy; not only do you make the time to choose what you will eat you also give yourself an opportunity to talk without your hands full. I also suggest you check the time when you start eating.

Here are my tips:

- Start with having a mini meal 1-2 hours before the event. When you are not hungry you can be more objective and make smarter choices.

- Focus on small plates. You automatically will put less food on a small plate.

- Each small plate should have a protein and vegetable. Identifying the different food groups is a key strategy. Allow yourself twenty minutes before you take another plate.

- Exclude all food topped with cheese or sauce.

- Limit alcohol to wine or straight shots on the rocks or mixed with seltzer, lemon or lime.

- One glass of water for each drink is a must.

- Remember the reason you are attending is to mingle with people so eating and drinking are secondary.

- As for the dessert table, pick your favorite and enjoy the taste-the first taste is always the best!

- Keeping to healthy eating before and after events and continuing with the exercise plan that you have in place will help you balance the scale.

With the best of intentions, check out your wardrobe, focus on socializing and make eating and drinking "the least important part of the event". I have heard from my clients that it gets so much easier with every event that you attend thanks to the planning and knowledge gained about how to overcome mindless eating.

Proven Ways to Burn Fat and Keep It Off

Being fat can make you feel embarrassed and reduce your self-esteem. Having excess body fat can not only make it hard for you to fit into the clothes that you like, but also increase your risk of developing certain medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and cancer. However, there are a lot of things that you can do to lose that extra weight. Following is some simple, but effective, proven ways to burn more fat and be a lot healthier.

Aerobic Exercise

Other than your diet, the best way to burn fat is aerobic exercise. Doctors recommend a regular exercise program whether it's to lose weight or just to maintain good health. But with the increasing problem of serious weight gain in America, there are several exercise programs that were devised specifically to make people burn fat faster. Although there is some that do help people lose weight, the success of any exercise program is if the person is consistent in the effort

Aerobic exercise is proven to burn calories faster than weight lifting or other strength training exercises. Going for a 30 minute run in the morning, or even just a brisk walk in the afternoon can help boost your metabolism and make your body burn more calories through out the day. Of course, the rate of fats that you burn also depends on the intensity of your aerobic exercise. You need to do at least 30 minutes three times a week or more, and gradually increase the intensity of your exercise every week.

Food

Another way for you to burn more calories is not to limit the food you eat, but the type of foods. It's a well-known fact that almost every processed food product we buy from the super market with it's trans fats, sugars and other man-made additives and chemicals is causing us addiction and craving problems. The more processed foods you can eliminate the better chance you'll have at getting thinner.

So, you can eat just as much, or more, as long as it's real food with quality nutrients and eat these in smaller meals several times during the day as opposed to one or two really large meals.

Always start your day with a full breakfast. A common mistake made by fat people is to not have any breakfast, but this actually does more harm for losing weight than good. eating a large, but healthy breakfast starts your metabolism going, which is helpful for losing weight.

The weight loss industry is huge, and so fad diets rehashing the same old stuff will come and go to get yet another bundle out of your pocket. Until you learn the solid and sensible information here, you will not lose weight and keep it off for good.

Stop yo-yo dieting and burn fat for good.

Gluten Intolerance and Weight Gain - Simple Tips For Easy Weight Loss

Have you recently become Gluten Intolerant? Are you struggling with your weight? I know from experience, how hard it can be to find a weight loss program which is built for people who have Celiac Disease. Let me show you some simple ways to get rid of those extra pounds, safely and easily.

One of the strange facts about having a Gluten Free Diet, is that 99% of people will have mainly dramatic weight loss, and not weight gain. In most cases a rapid decline in weight is an indicator of having a Gluten problem.

Gluten Intolerance and Weight Gain. So whats happening to your body?

I mentioned above that 99% of people will lose weight, but a small percentage will gain weight, and there is a simple reason. I will try to explain this simply. When your body does not have an intake of Gluten, your body may react in a way that means you will have an insatiable appetite, as your body tries to adjust, and take in what it's missing. A problem will then occur when your body cannot absorb or fully use that extra food, and hence you gain weight.

I must explain that people who are trying to lose weight by using a Gluten Free Diet will have to take precautions. Counterpart foods free from Gluten contain less vitamins, protein and fibre. It is a good idea to either take vitamin supplements, or extra foods which may contain these extra minerals and nutrients you might be missing out on.

So what can be done? How can I make my body lose weight?

The first step is to find out which foods are making you pile on the pounds. A simple reason is using Gluten Free flours and other products such as yeast substitute. These products may be good for a while, but over a short period, they could actually make you put on weight.

I know its easy for me to say many of these things, but I have family experience of this problem. A close family member was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and after many months of battling weight, it was finally got under control with some simple diet changes. If you are having problems with weight gain, trying some simple diet changes can make a big difference, and it's not always the foods you think, that might be making you gain weight.

The second step that is quite easy to do, is not always choose the easy free foods. Having a healthy refrigerator and cupboard is a key to any weight loss program. In modern times, we have become very dependent on fast, easy foods, and the same can be said for Gluten Free products. The market is slowly becoming bigger, and its your choice to choose the low fat options, or even self made if possible.

We have looked at Gluten Intolerance and Weight Gain, and how making a few simple changes can be beneficial to your diet and body mass.

Is Acupuncture One of the Best Ways to Lose Stomach Fat?

Recently, acupuncture has become known throughout American culture as one of the most effective ways to lose stomach fat. For thousands of years, the Chinese have been using acupuncture to help individuals eliminate pain, give up smoking and lose weight quickly, along with several other benefits. Not only can the procedures help you shed a few pounds, acupuncture will help you stay skinny.

The first advantage for any person looking to slim down with acupuncture is the increase in energy that it provides. This new found energy can be used to exercise and burn off multiple calories. At the same time, sore muscles from working out can be removed with acupuncture. In fact, blood circulation is almost always improved throughout your entire body after experiencing acupuncture. Stress levels are decreased, along with triglycerides, and LDL cholesterol levels. Acupuncture is known to speed up a person's metabolism, causing carbs to burn much faster. On top of everything, hunger can be greatly reduced with a little acupuncture.

While medical research lacks scientific proof, feedback from multiple surveys have shown that the Chinese technique helps individuals regulate their sleep. Getting longer and deep shut-eye results in a better balanced lifestyle. And once your body is in a healthy and steady rhythm, shedding a few pounds is not difficult.

When you decide to try acupuncture to lose belly fat fast, five different needles are usually placed in each of your ears. While one is meant to relax your body, the other four needles are used to stimulate individual organs, like your liver, lungs, kidneys and nervous system. Each needle supposedly causes your body to create endorphins. These chemicals directly combat hunger, as well as stress and any withdrawal symptoms from cigarettes.

Besides the ears, various parts of your body can be used by a trained acupuncturist. The stomach is often targeted for obese men and women. Your mouth can get stuck with a thin needle if you happen to be a smoker that eats impulsively. Simple food addicts get needles aimed at their lungs, while the thyroid is pinpointed for folks with slow metabolisms. Pointing your acupuncture needles towards your endocrine helps to reduce water retention. Similarly, aiming for the kidney can reduce water retention, as well as quickly calm your nervous system. Finally, getting stuck in the spleen assists your body by balancing out its sugar and hormone imbalances, resulting in weight loss.

Unfortunately, acupuncture is not free of unwanted side effects. Upon occasion, patients get so dizzy that they faint right in the acupuncturist's office. If the tools are not properly sterilized, you run the risk of getting an infection from a contaminated needle. These dirty needles can cause hepatitis B and C, as well as harm to the skin where it was inserted. Meanwhile, you need to steer clear of acupuncture if you are taking blood thinners, rely on a pacemaker or any other electric device in your body. Otherwise, acupuncture can be one of the best ways to lose stomach fat.

Since I reached my 40s, my body has blown up like a balloon. I was becoming scared that I'd have a lethal heart attack at any given moment. I decided to ask my family doctor how to lose weight fast? He suggested the use of powerful HCG Injections, along with acupuncture to quickly see weight loss results. He even claims that they are the two best ways to lose stomach fat. That certainly sounds easy enough. Thanks Doc!
